Anthem is a women-run family winery started in 2009 to make small-batch wines from Napa Valley mountain vineyards. Proprietor and CEO Julie Arbuckle, an attorney and former federal prosecutor, fell for the valley after college at UC Berkeley, and she and her husband found their Mount Veeder estate soon after their first child was born. They are first-generation farmers and vintners.
The estate sits on a hillside ridge top at about 400 feet in the Mount Veeder AVA, a few miles from Highway 29. The vineyards are Fish Friendly Farming certified, Peruvian sheep graze between the vines, and deep-root irrigation sends water straight to the roots. Jeff Ames, who trained under Thomas Rivers Brown, makes the wines, and John Truchard's FARM Napa Valley oversees the vineyards.
Anthem has no tasting room yet, but it offers a small number of vineyard tastings at the estate. They are weekdays only, for at least six guests, and booked by email at least two weeks ahead, so this suits a group planning ahead. Guests taste among the vines that grow the Mount Veeder Cabernet and Merlot, and we handle the request and timing.
$75 per person for a Vineyard Tasting at the estate. The length is not published; we allow about 75 minutes.
Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
