Amuse Bouche is a joint venture between winemaker Heidi Barrett and John Schwartz. Heidi grew up in a Napa winemaking family, studied fermentation science at UC Davis and made her name at Dalla Valle, where her Maya earned two 100-point scores, and at Screaming Eagle. She also makes her own La Sirena wines.
The flagship is a Pomerol-style red meant to stand beside the great Right Bank wines. The 2024 Amuse Bouche is 93% Merlot and 7% Cabernet Franc from the winery's vineyards in the east Rutherford hills, and each allocation comes with a signed, numbered lithograph; the 2024 art is Bernard Louedin's "Gondolà a Napa". The family also makes Vin Perdu, Prêt à Boire rosé and Richard G. Peterson wines, named for Heidi's father.
Amuse Bouche has no public tasting room, but it offers tasting experiences by appointment, arranged by phone or email. The place, time and fee are confirmed when the appointment is made, so it is a quiet, personal visit rather than a drop-in. We make the request for you and build the rest of the day around the time the winery gives us.
Tasting fees to be verified upon reservation.
Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
