About the Winery

Acre began with a single acre of Cabernet Sauvignon that Dave Becker planted on his family's Oak Knoll property in 2002, the source of the slogan "One Acre, One Guy, One Wine." His friend Bob Babbe joined to launch Acre Wines. In 2017 Mike and Talley Henry bought the winery; Mike grew up in the trade through his father, Warner Henry, founder of what became The Henry Wine Group.

Veteran winemaker Richard Bruno, also a partner in Vinum Cellars, makes the Acre, One Acre and Old Lodge wines. The grapes come from family-owned, organically or sustainably farmed vineyards, among them Mill Race in Yountville, on the site of George Yount's old grist mill, Pelissa in Oakville and Betty's Vineyard in St. Helena, planted in 1953. The winery uses lightweight bottles and has dropped foil capsules.

Acre pours at The Studio by Feast it Forward, a tasting room collective on McKinstry Street across from Oxbow Public Market. The family also builds custom tastings by advance reservation in downtown Napa and Oakville, indoors or out, with or without bites, for a couple or a group of twenty. Give them plenty of notice and they will shape it around you.

Tasting Fees
