About the Property
Elim Grove Cottages are a cluster of cottages along Austin Creek in Cazadero, in the redwoods northwest of Guerneville, set on the grounds of Raymond's Bakery near an old-growth redwood grove. The property also includes the Historic Cazadero Inn, a five-bedroom house that sleeps 10.
Stays range from one-bedroom cottages such as the Gravenstein and Creekside cottages to the two-bedroom Paradise Grove on the creek and the Baker's Loft. There is free wifi and a redwood patio among the old trees.
It is a quiet, out-of-the-way base for a wine tour. Guerneville and the Russian River are about 25 minutes away, and Korbel and the Westside Road wineries are about 30 to 40 minutes. We are based in Calistoga, in neighboring Napa Valley.
Getting Here From the Airport
Sonoma County Airport (STS): about 28 miles, 1 hour. The closest airport to Elim Grove Cottages, and the easiest arrival: a small airport in Santa Rosa with no Bay Area traffic on the drive. Direct flights come in from Los Angeles, San Diego, Seattle, Portland, Phoenix, Denver, Dallas and more.
Oakland (OAK): about 95 miles, 2 hours 30 minutes. Often a quieter airport than SFO.

About 10 minutes away. A math teacher's four-level gravity-flow winery on Westside Road, built by hand with family and friends. The Classic Wine Tasting is $40. Open daily from 11 a.m.; walk-ins when there is room.

About 5 minutes away. Single-vineyard Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from a hilltop winery on Westside Road. The Discovery Tasting is $55, about 90 minutes, outdoors. Reservations encouraged.

Adds about an hour. A century-old vineyard in a saddle between two redwood ridges at the top of Mays Canyon, with seated tastings for no more than 10. By appointment; the fee is confirmed when we book.
