The Driftwood Lodge is a 30-acre estate on Highway 1 on the far Sonoma Coast north of Jenner, with a 1.5-acre oceanview meadow and a 25-acre redwood forest with trails and a year-round creek. Its five studio suites all have ocean views, and the estate is rented as a whole, for groups and weddings.
Four suites have private patios, and three have a jetted tub and sauna. Guests share an outdoor hot tub, fire pit, barbecue and lawn games, a full kitchen, a two-story event barn and a small goat farm, with Starlink Wi-Fi, and the lodge is pet-friendly.
It is also a remarkable place to start a wine tour. Fort Ross Vineyard & Winery, the only tasting room in the Fort Ross-Seaview appellation, is about 25 minutes up the ridge, and the Russian River wineries around Guerneville are about 50 minutes away. We are based in Calistoga, in neighboring Napa Valley.
Sonoma County Airport (STS): about 41 miles, 1 hour 15 minutes. The closest airport to The Driftwood Lodge, and the easiest arrival: a small airport in Santa Rosa with no Bay Area traffic on the drive. Direct flights come in from Los Angeles, San Diego, Seattle, Portland, Phoenix, Denver, Dallas and more.
Oakland (OAK): about 103 miles, 2 hours 35 minutes. Often a quieter airport than SFO.
San Francisco International (SFO): about 103 miles, 2 hours 45 minutes, and longer at busy times. The most flights, with a drive across the Bay Area.
Sacramento (SMF): about 135 miles, 3 hours 25 minutes. Skips Bay Area traffic entirely, though it is the longest drive of the four.
Flying private? We also meet guests at the FBOs at STS and Napa County Airport (APC). See our Sonoma County Airport car service page for more on flying into STS.
