William Knuttel Winery is family owned and operated. William Knuttel is the proprietor and winemaker, Sebastian Knuttel is cellar master and Kate Knuttel is business manager, with a small crew the family considers part of the family.
At its facility in Sonoma, the winery makes both affordable everyday wines and ultra-premium single-vineyard and specialty wines, drawing on Dry Creek Valley, the Russian River Valley, the Sonoma Coast and Napa Valley. The same facility provides custom crush services for many other clients, and the wines are distributed locally, nationally and sometimes internationally.
The Sonoma address is a working winery and custom crush facility with no tasting room, so William Knuttel Winery does not receive visitors. Its wines are sold online and through its wine club, Cellar Selections. The day below stays around the town of Sonoma.
William Knuttel Winery does not offer tastings.
The day below visits Buena Vista ($40), Gundlach Bundschu ($45) and Three Sticks ($85), about $170 per person in tasting fees.
Tasting fees as of October 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
