Vigil Family Wines grew out of the Vigil family's farm in Sebastopol. In 1986 Sabina and Tarcicio Vigil bought the historic property, home to California's oldest blueberry farm, planted in 1940, and ran it for more than three decades as Sebastopol Berry Farm. In 2019 the 13-acre farm was replanted to two clones of Pinot Noir and two of Chardonnay in the Green Valley of Russian River Valley AVA.
The wines all come from that one vineyard: the Salvaje and Fuerza Pinot Noirs ($65 for the 2024s), a Chardonnay and a Rosé of Pinot Noir ($40). The labels carry family symbols, the monarch butterfly, the Oyamel fir and the wolf, tied to the family's roots in Michoacán, Mexico, and a town called La Lobera.
There is no public tasting room. The winery hosts invite-only tastings and occasional pop-up events for its mailing list, and sells online, shipping within California. The day below stays in the Green Valley, with three estates that do host.
Vigil Family Wines does not offer public tastings.
The day below runs about $110 per person in tasting fees at Emeritus, Marimar and Red Car.
Tasting fees as of October 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
