Kelly Ramsey and his wife, Lizzie, honeymooned in the French countryside in the mid-1990s, tasting in small wine houses, and dreamed of owning a vineyard. Some 25 years later they left careers in college education and design-building in Texas, and in 2021 they began farming a five-acre old-vine Zinfandel vineyard in Dry Creek Valley. The whole family now pitches in, with Kelly as winemaker.
The vines, about 47 years old, grow in the volcanic soils of the valley's east bench, farmed with organic and sustainable practices, and the wines are aged in French oak. Production stays under 800 cases. The first vintage, the 2023 Old Vine Zinfandel, won a gold medal and 95 points at the California State Fair, and the 2024 Zin-sé, a dry rosé of Zinfandel co-fermented with Sauvignon Blanc, won Best of Class at the 2026 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition.
There is no formal tasting room yet. Instead, the tasting gazebo sits in a meadow next to the vineyard, and you share a glass with the winemaker among the vines, poured into crystal. It is about as personal as a visit in Dry Creek Valley gets.
Tasting fees to be verified upon reservation.
Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
