Panther Ridge is a seven-acre Pinot Noir vineyard on a rolling ridge about 1,000 feet up on Sonoma Mountain, above Penngrove. Owner and founder Suzanne Farver broke ground on a field of hay and thistle in 2016, piled the boulders that came out of the ground on a slope too steep to plant, and put in 10,000 Pinot Noir vines. The first crop came three years later, and Panther Ridge Wines launched in 2019. The name comes from a line of black cats in the family, and from the mountain lions that turn up on the vineyard's night cameras.
The vineyard has been farmed without chemicals from the start, was certified organic by California Certified Organic Farmers in 2019 and has followed biodynamic principles since 2020. Gravelly volcanic soils and the afternoon winds of the Petaluma Gap give small, thick-skinned grapes. Two Sonoma County winemakers make the wines: Adrian Manspeaker of Joseph Jewell Wines makes the Pinot Noir, and Garry Brooks of Brooks Note Winery makes the Rosé of Pinot Noir.
There is no tasting room. Visits are hosted at the vineyard by appointment, mostly on weekends between noon and 5 p.m.; the winery describes a visit as an hour or two to unwind. We send the request with your date, time and number of guests and confirm the details when we book.
Panther Ridge does not publish a tasting fee. The fee is confirmed when we book the appointment.
Tasting fees as of October 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.

Good to Know
This is a working vineyard on a mountain road; the winery asks visitors to navigate with Google Maps, since Apple Maps can send cars the wrong way. Visits are hosted, so the day is set around the appointment time. The winery also holds occasional vineyard dinners, listed on its website.
