Green Valley of Russian River Valley · Sonoma County
Cool-climate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from the Sonoma Coast and Santa Cruz Mountains, from a former NASDAQ trader now building an estate in Sebastopol. Kutch has no tasting room and hosts tastings only as its schedule allows; here is what to know, and a day at sought-after estates nearby that do host.

Jamie Kutch left a career as a NASDAQ trader in New York and moved to California with Kristen Green to build a life around farming and wine. He apprenticed with an established producer and founded Kutch Wines in 2005, focused on Pinot Noir from cold, coastal vineyards on the Sonoma Coast and in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Chardonnay followed in 2014. Jamie leads the vineyard and winemaking, and Kristen handles public relations.
The winemaking is restrained: grapes are moved by gravity, fermented with native yeast and malolactic bacteria, and punched down by foot. The wines age only in neutral French oak, with no new oak, and rest on their lees without racking until bottling, 11 to 16 months after harvest. The range includes a small number of single-vineyard Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays, and the wines are on leading restaurant lists. In the 2020s the couple bought a 12-acre estate on Wilson Road in Sebastopol and began planting their first estate vineyard, and plans are underway for a winery and tasting facility there.
For now the wines go to a mailing list allocation, and Kutch says it accommodates tasting requests only as its schedule allows. There is no tasting room or published hours, so the day below goes to three estates near Sebastopol that host.
Kutch does not publish a tasting program or fee.
On the day below, Iron Horse's Tasting with a View, Red Car's Coastal Reserve Tasting and Marimar Estate's seated Estate Tasting are each $35 per person.
Tasting fees as of October 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
