About the Winery

Fogline Vineyards launched in 2009, founded by Brent Bessire and Evan Pontoriero, who make the wines themselves. The name comes from their belief that mountain fruit grown above the fog line makes more balanced, focused wines. Their home vineyard sits near the top of Sonoma Mountain in the Petaluma Gap, first planted in 2007.

The winery makes small lots of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah and Zinfandel. Besides the estate, fruit comes from hillside sites such as Bradford Mountain in Dry Creek Valley and the Rockpile appellation, and the lineup includes old-vine Zinfandel and what the winery calls the highest Syrah vineyard in Sonoma County.

Fogline pours at the Sugarloaf Wine Company's cooperative tasting room on Cristo Lane, off Highway 12 at the top of Sonoma Valley, with a patio, bocce and cornhole. Walk-ins are welcome there for wines by the glass or flight, and Evan or Brent host private tastings by reservation. We confirm current details when we book.

Tasting Fees

Fogline does not publish its tasting fees. Wines are poured by the glass or flight at the Sugarloaf tasting room, and private tastings are priced when you reserve. We confirm the current price when we book.

Tasting fees as of October 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
