Emmitt-Scorsone Winegrowers is a partnership between winemakers Palmer Emmitt and Michael Scorsone, who make the wines themselves at a small winery outside Healdsburg, with no investors, consultants or employees. They bottle three labels. Judge Palmer, named for Palmer's grandfather James Palmer, who served four terms as judge in the Placerville Justice Court, focuses on Cabernet Sauvignon and other varieties from Napa and Sonoma. Domenica Amato, inspired by Michael's Sicilian grandmother, features Grenache and other Rhône and Italian varieties. Emmitt-Scorsone is the value-priced line.
The flagship is Cabernet Sauvignon from the Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard in Oakville, $195 for the 2019 and 2021 vintages. The Vintage Select Cabernet is $55. Grapes come from small, family-owned vineyards, and the portfolio also includes Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Franc and Malbec.
The downtown Healdsburg tasting room is closed, and the winery says a new tasting room will open at Bacchus Landing, with no date given as of October 2026. For now, the wines are sold online and through the club, which holds pick-up parties. The day below goes to Bacchus Landing, where the new tasting room is planned, and ends on the Healdsburg Plaza.
Emmitt-Scorsone has no open tasting room. On the day below, fees run $25 at Smith Story, $40 at Aldina and $40 to $60 at LIOCO, paid to each winery.
Tasting fees as of October 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
