Zichichi Family Vineyard is family owned and run, in the heart of Dry Creek Valley's Zinfandel country. The family bought the vineyard in 2000 and spent the next years designing the winery, which was finished in the summer of 2006, part of the founder's dream of raising his family in wine country.
The vineyard was planted in 1920 to Zinfandel and Petite Sirah on St. George rootstock. The vines are head-pruned and grow in rocky, gravelly soil that starts on a hill and rolls down to Dry Creek. Every Zichichi wine is made from 100 percent handpicked estate grapes, using traditional methods and about 20 months in French and American oak, for full-bodied reds.
Visits are by appointment and personal. A host greets you, walks you behind the scenes through the winery, past the barrels, the harvest equipment and the bottling line, and then you choose four wines to taste in the rustic tasting room. The winery is at the quiet north end of West Dry Creek Road, and guests are welcome to picnic overlooking the vines.
Zichichi Family Vineyard does not publish its tasting fee; it is confirmed when the appointment is made.
Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.

Good to Know
Every visit is by appointment and includes a short winery tour before the tasting. Picnics are welcome overlooking the vineyard.
Pickup at 9:50 a.m. from a Healdsburg hotel such as Hotel Healdsburg or Harmon Guest House.
Hotel Healdsburg, on the town plaza, and Harmon Guest House, a boutique hotel just off the plaza, are each about 5 minutes from Ramey, our first stop. Zichichi hosts by appointment from 11 to 4:30, so we finish there in the afternoon. The day below fits a six-hour tour, and extra time can be added by the hour.
About 5 minutes away. David Ramey, who worked at Château Pétrus, Chalk Hill, Matanzas Creek, Dominus and Rudd, founded Ramey Wine Cellars in 1996, and his Chardonnays earned him the nickname Professor Chardonnay; his children Claire and Alan have run it since 2021. The seated tasting of six wines, in a private upstairs parlor overlooking the cellar a few blocks from the plaza, is $50 and about 90 minutes. By appointment, daily at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
About 25 minutes away. Debra Mathy's family-run winery at the confluence of Dry Creek and Dutcher Creek, in a 1900s-style farmhouse winery whose breezeway frames the whole northern end of the valley; guests love the view from the patio, and Lady, the resident Labrador, greets most visitors. The winery does not publish its tasting fee; it is confirmed when we book. Reservations recommended; open daily 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
About 10 minutes away. Santi and Virginia Catelli opened this Geyserville restaurant in 1936, and their granddaughter, chef Domenica Catelli, carries on the family's handmade Italian cooking. Open Wednesday to Sunday from noon; we reserve the table for you. Prefer a picnic? We can arrange a catered picnic at a winery that allows one; the cost is quoted when you book.
About 15 minutes away. The appointment-only tour of the winery and a tasting of four estate wines of your choosing, with the 1920 vines just outside.
Back in Healdsburg by 3:55 p.m., within six hours of pickup.
Three wineries is the right pace for a day of serious tasting. Catelli's opens Wednesday to Sunday, so this day works on those days, and we confirm the Zichichi appointment when we book.
About $50 per person for Ramey, plus the Dutcher Crossing and Zichichi fees, confirmed when we book, each paid directly to the winery.
Every tour is custom. This day is a starting point: your chauffeur will shape it around what matters to you, and we plan multi-day tours for guests who want to see more of wine country.
