Dancing is the label of a mother-and-daughter team, Cynthia and Lauren Russell, who restored a historic vineyard in 2022 and have made wine from it since. The brand calls itself a mother-daughter vineyard and pairs limited-release wines with a line of fragrances inspired by vineyard life.
The vineyard covers a dozen acres in Sonoma County, with old, gnarly vines few enough to pick by hand. Dancing's wines are small releases: a rosé (the 2024 is a Zinfandel rosé), Fresh Take, a modern take on Zinfandel, Duo, a bright, elegant red, and Bounce. In the online shop Fresh Take is $28 and the 2025 rosé $34.
Dancing sells through its online shop and the Dance Club, which brings shipments, exclusive drops and member events. There is no tasting room or visit program, so it does not receive visitors. The day below goes to Dry Creek Valley, Sonoma County's Zinfandel heartland, for three family wineries that do host.
Dancing does not offer tastings. On the day below, expect about $100 to $120 per person: $30 to $50 at Dry Creek Vineyard and $35 each at Quivira and Preston Farm.
Tasting fees as of October 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.

About 10 minutes away. An organic farm and winery on Wine Creek, with gardens, olive trees and a restored salmon stream. $35 for the Estate Tasting of five current releases, at your own pace. Booked online.
About 10 minutes away. Lunch at the Dry Creek General Store, a deli and bar in the valley since 1881, with sandwiches to eat on the porch. We confirm hours when we book. Prefer a picnic? We can arrange a catered picnic at a winery that allows one; the cost is quoted when you book.
About 15 minutes away. An organic family farm at the top of Dry Creek Valley, with estate wines, olive oil and bread. $35 for a private tasting of five to six organically grown estate wines, 60 to 75 minutes. By appointment only.
Back by about 3:55 p.m., about six hours after pickup.
All three wineries are open daily, so this day works any day of the week. Preston's tastings are by appointment, which we make when we book.
About $100 to $120 per person in tasting fees for the three wineries, paid directly to each winery.
