Cobb Wines was founded in 2001 by David and Diane Cobb and their son Ross Cobb, who spent nearly a decade honing his winemaking before starting the family label. The family calls itself a pioneer of the far Sonoma Coast: David and Diane planted Coastlands Vineyard with Ross in 1989, and the first Coastlands Pinot Noir was just 130 cases.
Coastlands sits at 1,150 feet, about three miles from the coast. Along with Doc's Ranch and Abigail's, it is one of three estate vineyards, and Ross also works with growers on the Sonoma Coast and in Anderson Valley and Cole Ranch for single-vineyard Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Riesling.
The tasting lounge on Healdsburg Avenue, a walk from the plaza, hosts two seated experiences by appointment. The Grower Series pours five small-production, single-vineyard wines, and the Estate Series Experience focuses on the three westernmost estate vineyards, including some of Cobb's most limited bottlings. We confirm current details when we book.
The winery does not publish tasting fees on its website. Both experiences pour five to six wines: the Grower Series Tasting (about 75 to 90 minutes) and the Estate Series Experience (about 90 minutes). The fee is confirmed when we book.
Tasting fees as of October 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
