About the Winery

Anthill Farms is owned and run by its two winemakers, Anthony Filiberti and David Low, whose cellar is at Timber Crest Farms in Dry Creek Valley. David Low is also head winemaker at Papapietro Perry, a few doors away. The two pick the wines for their club themselves, the six bottles they would take home from each release, with a letter explaining why.

The focus is cool-climate Pinot Noir, Syrah and Chardonnay from small vineyards on the Sonoma Coast and in Mendocino County: Campbell Ranch near Annapolis, a few miles from the Pacific at about 750 feet, which Anthill farms itself; Peters outside Sebastopol; Jack Hill near Freestone; Holder on Occidental Ridge; Abbey-Harris above Boonville and Baker Ranch near Philo in the Anderson Valley; and Comptche Ridge, a dry-farmed clearing ringed by redwoods near the Mendocino coast. Its Chardonnay comes from the head-trained Peugh vineyard, probably planted in the early 1940s and among the oldest producing Chardonnay in the state.

There is no public tasting room. The winery invites people to email to ask about scheduling a visit, and we make that request for you. Most of the wine goes to the mailing list and the club, in spring and fall releases with a summer rosé and a winter library offer.

Tasting Fees

Tasting fees to be verified upon reservation. Anthill Farms does not publish a tasting program.

Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.

A Suggested Six-Hour Day

Pickup at 10:00 a.m. from a Healdsburg hotel such as Hotel Healdsburg or Hotel Trio.

10:00 · Pickup at Hotel Healdsburg or Hotel Trio

Hotel Healdsburg, on the town plaza, and Hotel Trio, on Dry Creek Road on the north side of town, are each about 15 minutes from Anthill Farms at Timber Crest Farms. The day below fits a six-hour tour, and extra time can be added by the hour.

10:15 · Anthill Farms

A visit by request with the winemakers if their schedule allows, about an hour; we confirm the time and any fee when the winery replies.

11:25 · Zichichi Family Vineyard

About 10 minutes away. A family estate on West Dry Creek Road with head-pruned Zinfandel and Petite Sirah vines planted in 1920. A host leads a behind-the-scenes walk through the winery, past the barrels and the harvest equipment, then pours four estate wines of your choosing in the rustic tasting room. The winery does not publish its tasting fee. By appointment, daily 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

12:40 · Lunch at Dry Creek General Store

About 15 minutes away. A country store since 1881 at the crossroads of Dry Creek Valley, with a deli for sandwiches, soups and salads, a front porch over the valley and a garden out back. Prefer a picnic? We can arrange a catered picnic at a winery that allows one; the cost is quoted when you book.

2:00 · Mill Creek Vineyards & Winery

About 15 minutes away. The Kreck family planted the first Cabernet Sauvignon in what is now the Dry Creek Valley appellation in 1964, and in 1982 two Kreck brothers milled trees from the property and built the tasting room themselves, with a waterwheel beside it. The seated Signature Flight of five wines by the waterwheel is $30 and the Reserve Flight $40. Daily, seatings 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., parties of 6 or fewer; reservations recommended.

3:15 · Back to your hotel

Back in Healdsburg by 3:30 p.m., within six hours of pickup.

Three wineries is the right pace for a day of serious tasting. Anthill Farms has no tasting room and sees visitors only by request, so we confirm the morning visit with the winery; if it can't host that day, we put another small Dry Creek producer in its place.

About $30 to $40 per person at Mill Creek, paid directly to the winery; fees for the Anthill Farms visit and Zichichi are to be verified upon reservation.

Every tour is custom. This day is a starting point: your chauffeur will shape it around what matters to you, and we plan multi-day tours for guests who want to see more of wine country.
