Vince Arroyo, who left an engineering career in Silicon Valley, bought the Greenwood Ranch at the north end of Calistoga in 1974 and replanted its vineyards. He made his first wine in 1984, starting with a few hundred cases.
His daughter Adrian Moye and her husband Matt took over in 2012. Matt runs the cellar and Adrian runs the winery and tasting room, and the family's motto is that they are farmers first and winemakers second. The wines are sold only directly to customers, including through a yearly barrel futures program.
The flagship is Petite Sirah, which often sells out before it is bottled, alongside Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, Sangiovese, Chardonnay and Port. Tastings are held in a barn full of oak barrels, and the feel is down to earth and friendly.
$30 per person for the tasting. Complimentary for Standing Order members.
Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
