A family label named for the Verdon River in Provence, sourcing small Napa Valley vineyards near water, made by Kevin Morrisey. Verdon Estate does not receive visitors; here is what to know, and a day at sought-after estates nearby that do host.

Verdon Estate takes its name from the Verdon River in Provence, which has cut the Gorges du Verdon through limestone between Castellane and Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, the town the family comes from. The family describes roots in a farming community and a wine tradition of more than five generations, and says an affinity for mountains and water drew it to Napa Valley.
Winemaker Kevin Morrisey began with a 1997 harvest internship at Château Pétrus, then worked under Tony Soter at Etude and went on to lead Etude and Stags' Leap Winery. Verdon sources from a handful of small vineyards in Rutherford, Oakville and Carneros, each near a river, creek or bay that brings fog and cool breezes. The range includes the Reserve No. 5 Cabernet Sauvignon and the No. 8 Chardonnay from Stonebridge Vineyards, named for a 1912 stone bridge.
Verdon sells its wine online and through retailers. It has no tasting room and publishes no visiting program, so it does not receive visitors. The day below visits small family wineries between downtown Napa and the hills to the east, including a cave tour and a side-by-side tasting of Napa's sub-regions.
Verdon Estate does not offer tastings.
Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.

Pickup at 10:15 a.m. from a nearby hotel such as River Terrace Inn or Westin Verasa Napa.
Since Verdon Estate does not host visitors, this day takes you to three sought-after estates nearby that do. Brown seats its first tasting at 10:30 a.m., so pickup is at 10:15; River Terrace Inn and Westin Verasa Napa are both close to downtown. The day fits a six-hour tour, and extra time can be added by the hour.
About 5 minutes away. A family-owned Chiles Valley estate known for Zinfandel, pouring seated tastings at set times in its Brown Downtown tasting room on Coombs Street. The Paired Tasting, five wines with individually plated small bites, is $75; we allow about 75 minutes. Thursday to Monday.
About 15 minutes away. A family label pouring single-vineyard, single-variety wines from 15 of Napa Valley's sub-regions side by side, in a private estate tasting in the hills east of the city of Napa. The Vice Estate Experience is $145, prepaid, for 2 to 6 guests; we allow about 90 minutes. By appointment, Tuesday to Saturday.
About 15 minutes away. Lunch at Bistro Don Giovanni, an Italian restaurant among the vineyards on Howard Lane, a valley favorite for more than 30 years, open daily from 11:30 a.m. Prefer a picnic? We can arrange a catered picnic at a winery that allows one; the cost is quoted when you book.
About 10 minutes away. A small family vineyard on the Silverado Trail, with wines by Jeff Ames, whose private visit starts with a walk through the caves where they are made, then barrel samples and a formal tasting. $75 per person. By appointment; the place is confirmed with the booking.
Back by about 4:15 p.m., about six hours after pickup.
About $295 per person in tasting fees for the three wineries, paid directly to each winery.
Brown Downtown is open Thursday to Monday and The Vice hosts Tuesday to Saturday, so plan this day for Thursday, Friday or Saturday. Rockmere confirms its time and place with the booking. Three wineries is the right pace for a day of serious tasting.
