About the Winery

Tony and Jo Ann Truchard moved to California with their family in 1972, and in 1973 Tony bought an abandoned prune orchard in Carneros: 20 acres with a southwest exposure. He planted Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Riesling, and became one of the pioneers of what would become the Los Carneros AVA.

The estate has since grown to about 400 acres, about 280 of them planted, on rolling hills between Napa and Sonoma. The family began making its own wines in 1989 and added an 11,000-square-foot wine cave in 1998. The family farms with sustainable and organic practices.

The visit is simple and genuine. A host leads you through the estate vineyards and into the cave while you taste current releases, so it feels more like a farm walk than a tasting bar. Visits run Monday to Friday only, which keeps it quiet; wear shoes you can walk in.

Tasting Fees

$55 for the Vineyard Tour and Tasting, current releases poured on a walk through the estate vineyards and caves.

Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
