Calistoga · Napa Valley
Winemaker Sally Johnson Blum and artist Max Blum's small-lot label, with rare Napa whites like Fiano and old-vine Chenin Blanc, poured by appointment at Tamber Bey's horse ranch in Calistoga, and a suggested six-hour day of tasting around it.

Sally Johnson Blum and Max Blum launched Stereograph in 2022. Sally has nearly 30 vintages behind her and multiple 100-point scores from Robert Parker, and she consults for small family wineries in Napa Valley and Washington. Max co-founded a wine marketing firm and is a musician, graphic artist and antique photo collector. The name is the Victorian stereograph: two flat images that merge into one scene with depth.
The lineup mixes Napa Cabernet with whites almost nobody grows here: Fiano from the Rutherford Dust Vineyard, Sémillon from Carneros, and Chenin Blanc from Henry Ranch in Pope Valley, head-trained vines planted in 1947. Reds include a Cabernet Franc from The Blackbird Vineyard, an Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon and the X2 red blend. Sally describes her style as balanced and textural, never forced.
The wines are made at Tamber Bey Winery on Tubbs Lane in the Calistoga AVA, and that is where tastings happen: a personal introduction of about an hour through current releases, with barrel tastings or a winery tour when possible. Tamber Bey is a working horse ranch with views of Mount St. Helena and the Palisades. Requests need at least seven days' notice, and mailing list members get priority.
$50 per guest for a personalized tasting of current releases, about an hour, waived with a qualifying purchase. Barrel tastings or a winery tour are included when possible.
Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
