About the Winery

Barb and Timothy Spelletich founded the Spelletich Family Wine Company in 1994. Barb, the winemaker, came to Napa Valley in 1992 and worked at St. Clement Vineyards; Tim, the cellarmaster, worked at Tra Vigne in St. Helena. Their daughter Kristen is now general manager, making it three generations in the business.

The winery makes about 250 cases a year of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, rosé and red blends from Napa and Sonoma vineyards, and also runs a custom crush business. The Bodog blend honors Tim's great-great-grandfather, who left Hungary in 1849 for the American Midwest. The family also makes wine for other labels in the same cellar, so you may find production under way when you visit.

This is about as close to the cellar as a visit gets. Barb or Tim hosts each seated tasting, then takes you onto the working crush pad; depending on the season you may be in the middle of harvest or bottling, and Ivy, the winery's Boston terrier, may join in. It sits in the Crusher Wine District, about seven minutes south of downtown Napa.

Tasting Fees

$40 for the Reserve Experience: six reserve and limited-release wines, seated, then barrel tasting on the live crush pad. A shorter seated tasting of four wines with a crush pad tour is also offered; its fee is confirmed when we book. Fees are waived with a two-bottle purchase.

Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
