About the Winery

Arvind and Beverly Sodhani started making wine in 2006 at a custom crush facility, with purchased To Kalon grapes, and kept those first three vintages for family and friends. After more than a decade of searching, they bought a 12-acre hillside estate in St. Helena in July 2013. Harlan had been buying all of its grapes, and during escrow Don Weaver of Harlan let them taste barrel samples, which settled it.

The 6.5-acre Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard sits at about 400 feet in a dense forest in the foothills of Spring Mountain, in the St. Helena AVA, with views across to the Vaca Mountains. Jim Barbour planted it in 2000 to clones 7, 15 and 337, and it is farmed entirely by hand. Thomas Rivers Brown made the wines from 2013 to 2019; Russell Bevan makes them now, a Reserve and an Estate aged 20 months in new French oak, unfined and unfiltered.

Sodhani has no tasting room, and the estate does not receive visitors. The wines are sold online and through the member list. The day below visits three estates nearby that do host, from a Howell Mountain estate with its own underground winery to two family estates on the valley floor.
