Sinegal Estate sits on the old Inglewood Estate at the foot of the Mayacamas Range, just west of St. Helena, one of Napa Valley's oldest farm properties. Vines were first planted here in 1881. David Sinegal and his father, Costco co-founder Jim Sinegal, bought the 30-acre estate in 2013, and David lives on the property with his family and runs the winery as vintner and general manager.
The estate is in the St. Helena AVA, with Cabernet Sauvignon and other Bordeaux reds, Sauvignon Blanc, a restored stone winery and underground caves. A 2-acre private lake, fed by a local stream, is a sanctuary for blue herons and geese, and an olive orchard and oak grove frame the gardens. Alanna Robinson leads the winemaking.
Visits are by reservation and led start to finish by an Estate Ambassador. You walk the winery and vineyard, stop at the lake and gardens, then sit down to taste, about 90 minutes in all. It is one of the few St. Helena visits where the time outdoors matters as much as the wine, so we plan an unhurried morning around it.
$75 to $100 for the estate tasting experiences, about 90 minutes, depending on the experience chosen. The Signature Tour & Tasting, a behind-the-scenes tour of the winery, vineyard and lake, is listed on Tock at $150. Fees are refunded with qualifying wine purchases.
Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.

Pickup at 10:00 a.m. from a nearby hotel such as Harvest Inn or Southbridge Napa Valley.
Both are a short drive from the estate: Southbridge Napa Valley, at the south end of St. Helena's Main Street, is about 5 minutes away, and Harvest Inn, set in gardens on Highway 29, about 7. The day below fits a six-hour tour, and extra time can be added by the hour.
The estate tasting with an Estate Ambassador, about 90 minutes ($75 to $100), with time at the lake and gardens. The Signature Tour & Tasting ($150) fits the same window.
About 12 minutes away. A small winery behind brick walls on Rutherford Road, with a courtyard and English-style garden that feel far from the highway. The Winemaker's Selection of four reds is $65, waived with a two-bottle purchase. Seated tastings by reservation, Thursday to Monday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
About 10 minutes away. Lunch high on Rutherford Hill with the whole valley below. The Bar serves all day from 11:30 a.m., and The Restaurant on the terrace offers a two- or three-course prix fixe lunch. Prefer a picnic? We can arrange a catered picnic at a winery that allows one; the cost is quoted when you book.
About 15 minutes away. Ren and Marilyn Harris's 55-acre family estate in west Oakville, which makes wine only from its own fruit; Heidi Barrett was the founding winemaker. A private visit and tasting by appointment; we plan about an hour, and the format and any fee are confirmed by the winery.
Back in St. Helena by about 4:05 p.m., about six hours after pickup.
About $140 to $165 per person in tasting fees for Sinegal and Elizabeth Spencer, plus Paradigm's fee, which is confirmed with the reservation; each paid directly to the winery.
Elizabeth Spencer pours Thursday to Monday; on other days we swap in another Rutherford estate. Sinegal does not publish its tasting days, so the day is set once the estate confirms a time.
