About the Winery
Simon Family Estate was founded in 2019 by Sam Simon, a Michigan businessman, and his family. The winery quotes his motto: "If you want something, you must go after it and never give up." The wines come from what the family calls pedigreed vineyards with history and heritage, including Beckstoffer Georges III in Rutherford.
Maayan Koschitzky makes the wines. He began his Napa career as an intern at Screaming Eagle and is a partner at Atelier Melka. The list runs from the Napa Valley and Reserve Cabernet Sauvignons to Sleeping Lady, the Beckstoffer Georges III Cabernet, and the Double Blessings bottlings Michael and Peter, plus the Golden Ore Sauvignon Blanc and Tigress rosé of Grenache.
Visits are by reservation only, upstairs in Suite 303 of the Exchange Building, a downtown Napa landmark from around 1900. Into the Cellar is poured among French oak barrels with artisanal food, for up to eight guests, and The Table as Muse turns the visit into a multi-course luncheon with reserve Cabernet. Every visit is personalized, so tell us what you enjoy.

About 11 minutes away. A Stags Leap District estate on the Silverado Trail, owned by the Terlato family and known for Cabernet Sauvignon. Taste of Terroir is $75, about 90 minutes, daily by reservation (open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.).
1:45 · Lunch at Mustards Grill
About 12 minutes away. Lunch at Mustards Grill on Highway 29 just north of Yountville, a Napa Valley favorite for more than 40 years, open daily for lunch. Prefer a picnic? We can arrange a catered picnic at a winery that allows one; the cost is quoted when you book.

About 5 minutes away. A working winery just south of downtown Yountville, devoted to single-clone Cabernet Sauvignon. The All Cabernet Sauvignon Tasting is $95, about 90 minutes; the Grape to Glass Tour & Tasting ($60) shows how the wine is made. Open daily 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. by appointment.
