About the Winery
Silver Trident's founders settled in Napa Valley in 2009 after years in premium travel and hospitality, and made their first wine that year, the Twenty Seven Fathoms Estate Cabernet Sauvignon. It is still a boutique family winery by choice, making about 3,500 cases a year, and winemaker Kari Auringer has been with them from the start.
The wines are mostly single varietals, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc, plus a Napa Valley red blend, with names like Benevolent Dictator Pinot Noir, Symphony No. 9 Sauvignon Blanc and Playing with Fire. In 2015 the winery opened its first Tasting Home in Yountville, pairing its wines with the Ralph Lauren Home collection.
In 2024 the Tasting Home moved down the block to a private piazza in the heart of town, in the Yountville AVA. The tastings are playful: a classic Flight of Five, five wines with artisanal potato chips, or five wines with pizzettas. Dogs can join with their own Puppy Pairings of gourmet treats.
Tasting Fees
$50 for the Flight of Five (about 50 minutes), $65 for the Potato Chip Extravaganza (about 75 minutes) and $80 for Pizza Pairings (about 90 minutes, waived with a six-bottle purchase per person).

A Suggested Six-Hour Day
Pickup at 10:15 a.m. from a nearby hotel such as Vintage House or Bardessono, for the first 10:30 reservations.

About 12 minutes away. A Stags Leap District estate on the Silverado Trail, known for Cabernet Sauvignon. The Taste of Terroir is $75 for 90 minutes. Reservations recommended, walk-ins welcome when space allows; open daily 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
