Prism Vineyards was founded on what it calls a simple, uncompromising promise: to make terroir-driven wine by putting quality first at every decision. The website does not name the owners, but it does name the team. Winemaker Ashley Hepworth spent 15 years as a winemaker at Joseph Phelps Vineyards, and vineyard manager Mark Neal guides the farming.
The estate vineyard is in the Crystal Springs of Napa Valley AVA, approved in November 2024 on the west-facing slopes of the Vaca Range between Mount St. Helena and Soda Springs. Prism's vines are about 25 years old, in volcanic soils above 400 feet. The current wines are 2024 Cabernet Sauvignons, one labeled Napa Valley and one Crystal Springs of Napa Valley, in bottles and magnums.
Prism sells through an allocation on its website, and members earn access to private events and tastings. There is no tasting room, visit page or published address. Since Prism does not host public visits, the day below takes you to three sought-after estates nearby that do, ending at RARECAT, where Ashley Hepworth also consults.
Prism does not offer tastings.
Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.

Since Prism does not host visitors, this day takes you to three sought-after estates nearby that do. Meadowood, at the foot of Howell Mountain, is about 10 minutes from the first stop, and Alila Napa Valley in St. Helena about 12 minutes. The day runs about seven hours, and extra time can be added by the hour.
About 10 minutes away. A family estate on the steep, rocky lower slopes of Howell Mountain, also in the Crystal Springs of Napa Valley AVA, home of the Cabernet Franc blend the family calls Liquid Cashmere. The Estate Tasting Experience is $100, three estate-grown red blends after a guided walk with views of the vineyard and caves. By appointment, Thursday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with a $50 deposit.
About 10 minutes away. A Cabernet that began in a two-car garage, now made at a restored ghost winery tucked into a canyon east of St. Helena, with 7,000 square feet of caves. The Collectors Tasting is $150, a cave tour and a seated tasting of six vintages, about 90 minutes. By appointment only, prepaid on Tock.
About 8 minutes away. Lunch at Forum, the main restaurant at Meadowood at the foot of Howell Mountain, with seasonal dishes drawn from the Meadowood farm. Lunch is served on weekdays, with brunch on weekends. Prefer a picnic? We can arrange a catered picnic at a winery that allows one; the cost is quoted when you book.
About 20 minutes away. A small, woman-owned winery making wine in Napa Valley, Champagne, Bordeaux and Russian River, with Ashley Hepworth as consulting winemaker. The private seated tasting of five wines with a wine educator is $85, waived for members and with qualifying purchases. By appointment at the Calistoga tasting room.
Back by about 4:55 p.m., about seven hours after pickup.
About $335 per person in tasting fees for the three wineries, paid directly to each winery.
Viader hosts Thursday to Saturday, and Forum serves lunch on weekdays with brunch on Saturday, so plan this day for Thursday, Friday or Saturday. Back by about 4:55 p.m.
