About the Winery

Pono is the family label of David and Carole Sedeno. David is a native Hawaiian and a retired career firefighter who began working with winemakers about two decades ago, and he works with well-known wineries and winemakers in Napa and Sonoma to make the wines.

Pono is the Hawaiian idea of balance and harmony, and it shapes the whole label. Each bottle is etched with the outline of Oahu, the coordinates of Iolani Palace in Honolulu and a golden fishhook, the makau, a Polynesian symbol of one who provides. The wines are small lots from select Napa Valley vineyards.

Visits are by appointment in Pono's downtown Napa tasting room, where each tasting is set up for your group, unhurried and personal. The family also runs an Ohana wine club with member events. It is a warm, easy start to the day before a drive out to the caves of Soda Canyon.

Tasting Fees
