Henry and Olga Patland came to Napa as a young couple and kept coming back for years. Both were born in Ukraine; Henry co-founded a Silicon Valley tech company before the family could chase the winery dream. In 2007 they bought a vineyard they named Terra Del Cuore, Italian for land of the heart, and released the first Patland wines in 2010.
The family loves traditional, full-bodied Napa reds, and that is what Patland makes, with Jay Buoncristiani as winemaker. In 2013 the Patlands joined a small group of families building The Caves at Soda Canyon, a winemaking facility dug entirely underground. Henry and Olga run it today with their three sons.
The Patland Caves Experience is a guided walk through the underground winery, its many turns and barrel rooms, with wines poured along the way and the family story told as you go. It finishes outside with a view the family calls one of the most breathtaking in Napa Valley. Plan on about 90 minutes.
$75 for the Patland Caves Experience with a current release tasting, about 90 minutes (complimentary for club members, up to 4 guests). $150 for the Library Tasting ($100 for members).
Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
