About the Winery

Pink Girl began with Tina Carpenter, a designer who came to wine country in 1995 and spent years designing wine labels. She and her husband, winemaker Chris Carpenter, came to the valley so he could make Cabernet Sauvignon; Tina, raised around her family's Chicago pizzeria, wanted a crisp, food-friendly rosé for hot summer days. She calls herself Pink Girl #1.

Pink Girl #2 is Martina Clain, a fine arts graduate and sommelier who met Tina after working the 2007 harvest for Chris, wearing pink Timberland boots in the cellar. She has managed the brand's design, marketing and sales for more than a decade and moved to Florida in late 2024. The brand describes itself as woman-owned and boutique, sourcing only sustainably grown grapes for its Napa Valley rosé, now also offered in sparkly magnums.

Pink Girl is sold online and at shops and restaurants listed on its website, including in Napa, St. Helena and Yountville, and on the Napa Valley Wine Train. It publishes no tasting room or visiting program, so it does not receive visitors. The day below visits Napa wineries that do.

A Suggested Six-Hour Day

Pickup at 10:45 a.m. from a nearby hotel such as Westin Verasa Napa or The Meritage Resort.

10:45 · Pickup at Westin Verasa Napa or The Meritage Resort

Since Pink Girl does not host visitors, this day takes you to three sought-after estates nearby that do, starting in south Napa. Westin Verasa Napa, by the Oxbow district, and The Meritage Resort, in south Napa, are each about 10 minutes from the first stop. We pick up at 10:45 because Chiron opens at 11 a.m. The day fits under six hours, and extra time can be added by the hour.

11:00 · Chiron Wines

About 10 minutes away. A boutique winery in south Napa where winemaker Bobby Moy reserves a private tasting area for your group. The private tasting of current releases is $50; we allow about an hour. By request, daily 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

12:15 · Tulocay Winery

About 12 minutes away. A small Coombsville winery where Bill, the self-styled Chief Entertainment Officer, leads a comic and historical tasting of four to five current releases. Tastings are $35; we allow about an hour. By appointment only.

1:30 · Lunch at Zuzu

About 10 minutes away. Tapas and paella at Zuzu on Main Street in downtown Napa, open daily from noon. Prefer a picnic? We can arrange a catered picnic at a winery that allows one; the cost is quoted when you book.

2:50 · Mark Herold Wines

About 20 minutes away. A Highway 29 tasting room in Oakville for the Cabernets of Mark Herold, the scientist-winemaker who founded Merus, where the B. Wise Vineyards Series pours his Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Seated flights are $50; we allow about an hour. Open daily 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; reservations recommended.

3:50 · Back to your hotel

Back by about 4:10 p.m., under six hours after pickup.

About $135 per person in tasting fees for the three wineries, paid directly to each winery.

Chiron opens at 11 a.m., so pickup is at 10:45. Tulocay confirms its time when it accepts the request. Three wineries is the right pace for a day of serious tasting.
