Proprietor Kia Behnia and winemaker Tony Biagi first met at UC Davis in 1991. The estate story began in the summer of 1996, when a flat bicycle tire on the Silverado Trail slowed the family down beside heritage oaks and a 1950s cottage. Fifteen years later, in 2011, the property came up for sale and they bought it, naming it Kiatra Vineyard. During the October 2017 fires the vineyard acted as a firebreak and the property was spared.
Kiatra, south of the Stags Leap District, is farmed organically with biodynamic and regenerative practices, planted at high density with less-conventional Cabernet clones. The family also developed AI vineyard sensing first used at Kiatra, and its Scout Gen5 was named one of TIME's Best Inventions of 2025. In 2026 the 2021 KIATRA Estate Cabernet was one of 12 finalists at the Judgment of Davis, held by UC Davis and Harvard Data Science, and placed third overall.
Guests taste at NEOTEMPO Studio on Main Street in St. Helena, a private room reserved for one small group at a time. The 60-minute Private Portfolio Tasting gives each wine its own playlist, and the 90-minute Multisensory Experience adds seasonal bites, imagery and spatial sound. Music lovers enjoy the nod to local audio history: the Magnavox, the first practical moving-coil loudspeaker, was developed in Napa in 1915. Members can also walk Kiatra itself.
$95 to $125 for the Private Portfolio Tasting, 60 minutes (the booking page lists $95 and the website $125; we confirm when we book). $150 for the Multisensory Experience with seasonal bites, 90 minutes. $175 for the Milestones Experience with a Champagne welcome and rare and library wines, 120 minutes. For members at Kiatra Vineyard, $150 for Vineyard of the Future, a 90-minute vineyard walk.
Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.

About 8 minutes away. Bruce and Barbara Neyers' family winery, shaped by years importing wine from small French estates, hosts unhurried seated tastings in Oakville. $50 per person, about 90 minutes. By appointment, Thursday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Back by about 4:00 p.m., six hours after pickup.
About $220 to $250 per person in tasting fees for the three wineries, paid directly to each winery.
Neyers hosts Thursday to Saturday, so plan this day for one of those days (on other days we swap in another seated tasting). NEOTEMPO confirms its Studio times when you book. Three wineries is the right pace for a day of serious tasting.
