Levendi was founded by James Gianulias, his son David and family friend Todd Rustman. James, a member of Napa Valley's vintner community for more than 30 years, traces his love of wine to his Greek roots and making wine for the family, and he built a career in property development before setting his sights on a family winery. David and Todd run the day-to-day.
Winemaker Alison Doran was the winery's first employee. She started in 1973 as a harvest intern at her father's Simi Winery, where André Tchelistcheff became her mentor, then spent 13 years at Firestone. Levendi's Chardonnay and rosé come from its own estate vineyards in the south of Napa Valley, and its Cabernets from Stagecoach Vineyard, Howell Mountain and Coombsville.
The tasting room is on First Street in downtown Napa, with indoor and outdoor space, small plates, and wine by the glass or bottle. Guests choose a Light, Red, Mixed or Proprietor's flight at the bar or a table. Because it opens in the afternoon and stays open into the evening, we make it the last stop of the day.
Levendi pours four flights (Light, Red, Mixed and Proprietor's) but does not publish prices. Tasting fees to be verified upon reservation.
Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
