Napa · Napa Valley
A small négociant label buying tiny lots from prized Napa vineyards, beginning with a 2018 Calistoga Cabernet from the foot of Diamond Mountain. Letterhead does not receive visitors; here is what to know, and a day at sought-after estates nearby that do host.

Letterhead, from Inner Circle Wine LLC, follows the French négociant model: it buys very good grapes rather than owning vineyards, choosing tiny allocations from desirable Napa Valley sites each year. The first release was a 2018 single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon from Calistoga, at the base of Diamond Mountain, picked through the night under floodlights and sorted at dawn at a winery in Carneros, as founder Andrew tells it on the site.
Letterhead names its winemaker only as a "100-point winemaker." Current releases are 2022 single-vineyard Cabernets from Rutherford and from Renteria's "360" vineyard in Oakville, a 2023 Calistoga red blend from just six barrels, and a 2023 Chardonnay from the Hyde Vineyard in Carneros. The name, the founders write, stands for a blank page on which each vintage writes its next chapter.
Letterhead sells through the Acquire page on its website and a monthly newsletter, and publishes no tasting room or visiting program, so it does not receive visitors. Since its first wine came from the foot of Diamond Mountain, the day below visits three Calistoga estates that do host, with a cave walk and a mountainside winery along the way.
Letterhead does not offer tastings.
Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.

Since Letterhead does not host visitors, this day takes you to three sought-after estates nearby that do, all around Calistoga, where its first wine was grown. Both hotels are about 8 to 10 minutes from the first stop. The day fits a six-hour tour, and extra time can be added by the hour.
About 10 minutes away. The Smith family's winery built into the mountainside at the Blueline estate, designed by Olle Lundberg. Visits are $150 per person for new guests, waived with three bottles per person. By appointment only; the time and length are confirmed with the appointment.
About 12 minutes away. The Bartholomew family's estate on Highway 29 south of Calistoga, where the Palisades Experience pairs a private seated tasting in the club lounge or on the patio, looking out at the Palisades, with a walk through 12,000 square feet of caves. $75, about 75 minutes. Open daily 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. by reservation.
About 8 minutes away. Lunch at Solbar at Solage, with seasonal Napa Valley cooking and a patio by the pool. Lunch runs Monday to Saturday, with brunch on Sunday, both until 2:45 p.m. Prefer a picnic? We can arrange a catered picnic at a winery that allows one; the cost is quoted when you book.
About 8 minutes away. A family winery in a former Calistoga water plant, with wines named for the Greek Muses and a custom crush cellar for small producers. The Amuse Me tasting is $65; we allow about an hour. Prepaid on Tock for parties of 1 to 6.
Back by about 3:50 p.m., well within six hours of pickup.
About $290 per person in tasting fees for the three wineries, paid directly to each winery.
Hourglass confirms its days and visit length with the appointment, and Solbar serves lunch Monday to Saturday (brunch on Sunday), so we confirm Hourglass first. Three wineries is the right pace for a day of serious tasting.
Every tour is custom. This day is a starting point: your chauffeur will shape it around what matters to you, and we plan multi-day tours for guests who want to see more of wine country.
