Oakville · Napa Valley
A family's ten-acre Oakville Cabernet vineyard beside its own restaurant, Brix, where library Cabernets are poured in the gardens and vines, and a suggested six-hour day of tasting around it.
Book a Six-Hour Wine Tour
The Kelleher family bought this 16-acre property on Highway 29 in Oakville in 1994: a ten-acre Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard and a historic restaurant they renamed Brix. For years they sold their grapes to well-known Napa wineries, and in 2004 they decided it was time to make a wine of their own from the vineyard.
The vineyard is planted only to Cabernet Sauvignon and named Brix Vineyard, after the restaurant; brix is the measure of sugar that tells growers when grapes are ripe. The estate Cabernet is still the heart of the lineup, joined by Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Rosé and Pinot Noir from small family-owned vineyards in Napa and Sonoma.
Visits are personal and unhurried. The Cabernet Vertical pours four library vintages of the Oakville estate Cabernet in the gardens and vineyard, with talk of the family's history and the Oakville soils. The Wine and Food Pairing adds a private table and dishes from the Brix executive chef. Guests love wandering the restaurant's vegetable gardens and orchard before or after.
$95 for the Kelleher Cabernet Vertical, four library Oakville estate Cabernets, 60 to 90 minutes (waived with a 6-bottle purchase). $140 for the Kelleher Wine and Food Pairing, two current whites and two vintages of the Oakville Cabernet with a pairing by the executive chef.
Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
