About the Winery

Karen and John Troisi fell for Napa Valley on vacations in the 1980s. From 1997 to 2003 they made wine by trucking California grapes to New Jersey while taking UC Davis courses, then founded Jean Edwards Cellars in Napa in 2004. The name joins their two middle names.

Winemaker Kian Tavakoli, formerly of Opus One and Clos du Val, has been with the winery from the start. The first wine earned 92 points from Wine Spectator, which named Jean Edwards one of twenty new Cabernet producers to watch. The family also makes Midnite Rider, with proceeds going to the Allman Brothers Band Museum at The Big House.

Tastings are in The Tasting Barn on Atlas Peak Road, near Silverado Resort and a few minutes from downtown Napa. It is relaxed and easygoing: dogs get water and treats, families are welcome, and there is parking and EV charging on site. Napa locals get a discount on tastings, and the space can host private events and tastings built around a budget.

Tasting Fees

$45 for the Vintner Flight, five wines, about 60 minutes. $65 for the Portfolio Experience of top selections, about 90 minutes. Wine club members taste free.

Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
