About the Winery

Doug and Darci Hill began farming Napa Valley vineyards in 1981 and spent two decades growing grapes for wineries such as Cakebread, Duckhorn, Far Niente and Quintessa. In 2001 they launched their own label, starting with a Merlot and a red blend called Origin. The family still farms, makes and pours the wines, with Doug Hill as president and director of viticulture and winemaking.

Today the family farms about 120 acres across 12 vineyard sites in Napa Valley, and the wines come from its own grapes. The tasting room sits on Washington Street in downtown Yountville, in the Yountville AVA, a few minutes from the family's estate winery on Solano Avenue, which hosts visits by appointment.

The tasting room pours a seated flight indoors or at bistro tables out front on Washington Street, and wine is also sold by the glass and the bottle. It is relaxed and family friendly: children and dogs are welcome to join, and the staff promise to make you an honorary Hill for the day.

Tasting Fees

$40 for the seated Classic Wine Tasting, waived with a $100 wine purchase.

Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
