Two vintners cook a multi-course meal for you in their 1926 Craftsman bungalow in downtown Napa and pour their Oak Knoll wines alongside it, and a suggested six-hour day of tasting around it.

Joey Wołosz and Jeff Durham met in 1999, both with degrees in hotel and restaurant management, and decided that summer to make wine together. They started that fall in a garage in St. Helena with half a ton of fruit from a small vineyard off Zinfandel Lane. The 2005 vintage launched Gentleman Farmer Wines with 80 cases, and production is still under 1,000.
Winemaker Jérôme Chéry, a native of Châteauroux in France, works with three primary vineyards in the Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley, all less than five minutes from the winery, including Cabernet Sauvignon from Meadowbrook Vineyard. He walks the rows himself and the grapes are sorted by hand.
The Bungalow is a reimagined 1926 California Craftsman on First Street, and the owners say it is not a tasting room or a restaurant but a family kitchen. Jeff and Joey cook family recipes for up to 14 guests and pour a wine with each course. Guests tell us the stories and the music are half the fun; if the door is open, you can also stop in for a glass.
$175 for breakfast with three wines and $190 for Wine and a Breakfast of Champions (with a 5k run or guided meditation), each three courses and 2 hours. $250 for Wine and Lunch in Our Kitchen, six courses with five current releases, 2 hours. $395 for the evening, seven courses, 3 hours. Tax and a 20% service charge apply.
Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.

Good to Know
Only 14 seats for the meal experiences; larger parties inquire about a private event (up to 67 guests). Tax and a 20% service charge are added to experience prices. Club members receive complimentary tastings.
Pickup at 10:00 a.m. from a nearby hotel such as Milliken Creek Inn or The Meritage Resort.
Milliken Creek Inn, on the Napa River off the Silverado Trail, and The Meritage Resort, at the south end of Napa, are each about 15 minutes from the first stop. Lunch today is the Gentleman Farmer kitchen experience, so we start with a morning tasting in the hills east of town. The day runs a little over six hours, and extra time can be added by the hour.
About 15 minutes away. A small family winery at the base of Mt. George, built by hand by its owners, who host every visit themselves on the terrace, in the winery and in the caves. The hosted experience is $80; we allow about 90 minutes of its up-to-two-hour length. By appointment.
About 12 minutes away. Wine and Lunch in Our Kitchen ($250 plus tax and a 20% service charge), five current-release wines with a five-course lunch cooked by Jeff and Joey, about 2 hours. The start time is confirmed when you book. Prefer a picnic? We can arrange a catered picnic at a winery that allows one; the cost is quoted when you book.
About 15 minutes away. Hand-farmed Rutherford Bench Cabernet from a family in the valley's wine business for more than a century, poured after a tour of the hillside caves at Soda Canyon. The Current Release Tasting is $95 with a cheese board, about 90 minutes. By appointment.
Back by about 4:10 p.m., a little over six hours after pickup.
About $425 per person in fees for the three wineries (including the $250 Bungalow lunch, before tax and service charge), paid directly to each winery.
The Gentleman Farmer lunch sets the rhythm of the day; if the kitchen gives a different start time, we move the morning tasting to fit. Three wineries is the right pace for a day of serious tasting.
