Book a Six-Hour Wine Tour
Bill Foley and his wife, Carol Johnson Foley, had long wanted a Napa Valley winery bearing their name, and they launched Foley Johnson in 2012. It is part of Foley Family Wines, and it sits right on Highway 29 in the Rutherford AVA, so it is an easy first stop of the day.
The wines are Bordeaux varieties from the 50-acre Foley Johnson Estate in the heart of Rutherford and the 10-acre Peral Vineyard of Cabernet Sauvignon next door. Robb Report recently named its Cabernet one of the 10 best Napa Valley Cabernets under $100. The hospitality center is a converted 1920s redwood barn.
Every tasting is seated, inside the barn or out on the estate terrace, and the VIP room for the Luxury Cabernet Tasting looks out over the estate vines. Guests who want to linger can reserve a lounge in the vineyard for a picnic, with a view of the Vaca Mountains, and bigger groups can book bocce and lawn games. Walk-ins are taken when there is space.
$60 for the Napa Valley Estate Tasting, five estate wines seated indoors or on the terrace. $100 for the Luxury Cabernet Tasting in the VIP room, with the Peral Vineyard Cabernet and a cheese and charcuterie board.
Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
