About the Winery

Campbell Cellars is the family vineyard of Tim and Carol Campbell, who began visiting Napa Valley for tastings as students at Berkeley. They bought a property in Rutherford with a redwood craftsman house by John Marsh Davis, the architect of Joseph Phelps Winery, and now run the winery with their daughters Amanda and Christina and son-in-law Bill. Winemaker Charles McKahn was brought in by vineyard manager Andrew Opatz.

The vineyard lies on the Rutherford Bench, with hillside terraces and young, thin, gravelly silty loam washed down from the Mayacamas Mountains. All the wine is estate grown, about 100 cases a year: the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon (90% Cabernet, 10% Petit Verdot) and the 2020 Red Wine (51% Cabernet, 49% Petit Verdot). Campbell Cellars is a Save the Family Farms Verified Napa Valley Micro-Producer.

There is no conventional tasting room. The wines are sold through the wine club and the winery's featured retailer, V Wine Cellar in Yountville. The day below stays in Rutherford, starting next door on South Whitehall Lane.

Tasting Fees

Campbell Cellars does not offer tastings.

The day below runs about $190 per person in tasting fees at Tres Sabores, Whitehall Lane and Grgich Hills.

Tasting fees as of October 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
