About the Winery

Terry and Bruce Strombom bought their small vineyard at the northern end of Napa Valley in 2014, after years of searching for land with vines. Calistoga Press was born that year, and the family runs it with a personal touch. The name and the press on the label nod to both of the estate's crops, grapes and olives.

The two-acre Trailview Vineyard sits on the valley floor beside the Silverado Trail a few miles south of Calistoga, planted only to Cabernet Sauvignon on well-drained volcanic soils, in the Calistoga AVA. Calistoga Press makes a single Cabernet in limited quantities; the Wine Advocate and Jeb Dunnuck have both reviewed it. Some 140 olive trees around the vineyard produce a certified extra virgin olive oil.

There is no tasting room, and the estate does not receive visitors. The Cabernet and the olive oil are sold directly on calistogapress.net, and the family invites questions through its contact form. For a day in the same corner of the valley, we take you to small estates nearby that do host.

Tasting Fees

Calistoga Press does not offer tastings.
