About the Winery

Thomas and Brenda Baldacci founded the winery in 1998, after Thomas came across a neglected property on the Silverado Trail in the Stags Leap District and saw what it could become as a vineyard. They raised four sons here, and the estate is still family owned and run, now in its second generation, with their son Michael Baldacci as winemaker and proprietor.

The vineyards are farmed organically, and the estate is known for the Cabernet Sauvignon the Stags Leap District is famous for. The heart of a visit is underground: the winery's caves, where the wines age in barrel. The winery notes that USA Today recognized it for the number one cave tour in Napa Valley, and most of its tastings include that walk.

Visits are by reservation, daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Guests love starting in the caves with a barrel sample before sitting down to taste with cheese and charcuterie. Cabernet lovers can compare the 2012, 2015 and 2018 vintages side by side, and the Winemaker's Collection Tasting is hosted in the caves by Michael Baldacci himself, with a welcome glass of sparkling wine.

Tasting Fees

$85 for Taste of Napa Valley, Carneros to Calistoga (three wines from three appellations with cheese and charcuterie), 75 minutes. $125 for the Private Taste of Napa Valley with Cave Tour or the Napa Valley Cabernet Vintage Retrospective and Cave Tour, each 90 minutes with a barrel tasting and cheese and charcuterie. $250 for the Winemaker's Collection Tasting with Michael Baldacci, 90 minutes, up to 6 guests.

Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
