Napa native Amy Ash, who has worked in winery management since 2007, owns and runs Aequitas Vineyards (spelled Æquitas on its labels) on Atlas Peak Road. The vineyard was planted in 2010. Amy started the project with partners, the attorneys David Boies and Stephen Zack, and has since bought them out to become sole proprietor. Her winemaker is Jason Moore, whom she met while working at Anderson's Conn Valley.
The vineyard sits at about 800 feet, which the winery describes as above the cloud line, with a panoramic view over Silverado Resort and Napa Valley. The ground is extremely rocky, with thin soils where the volcanic cap breaks the surface, and only a few acres are planted. Aequitas focuses on Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, in the Atlas Peak AVA, with production of around 600 cases a year.
There is no tasting room, and the winery publishes no visiting hours; visits are by appointment, arranged with Amy by phone, and estate tours can be arranged. We make the request on your behalf and confirm where the tasting takes place. The vineyard is only a few minutes up Atlas Peak Road from Silverado, an easy first stop of the day.
Tasting fees to be verified upon reservation.
Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
