About the Winery

7Cellars is the wine brand of Hall of Fame quarterback John Elway and Jeff Sperbeck, the NFL contract advisor who represented athletes for some 30 years. The first wines, a 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon and a 2014 Chardonnay in Elway's Reserve Collection, were made with fourth-generation Napa winemaker Rob Mondavi Jr. The Farm Collection followed in March 2020 at a gentler price.

7Cellars calls its Napa Valley home "The ONEHOPE Winery Featuring 7Cellars": a winery off Highway 29 in the Rutherford AVA, designed by Howard Backen, with views of the Mayacamas. The ONEHOPE team makes the wine there, with Isadora Frias as winemaker, Philippe Melka consulting and Rob Mondavi Jr. advising. ONEHOPE gives part of every sale to charity, more than $12 million so far by its count.

There is no separate 7Cellars tasting room, so visits are at the ONEHOPE winery, which hosts seated tastings by reservation, from a relaxed Estate Introduction to a flight of four Cabernets with a curated board or a chef-curated Wine & Bites pairing. ONEHOPE's menus feature its own wines and do not list 7Cellars, so we ask the winery to pour it when we book.

Tasting Fees

$45 for the Estate Introduction. $100 for a flight of four Cabernet Sauvignons with a curated board. $125 for the seasonal Harvest Picnic & Flight and $175 for Wine & Bites, a chef-curated pairing. Durations are not published; plan about an hour for the Estate Introduction. These are ONEHOPE tastings; 7Cellars is poured on request, to be verified upon reservation.

Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
