About the Winery

1467 Cellars takes its name from the address of the family's childhood home, and its logo is a replica of that front door. The story starts with Juan Roldan, who left Acopinalco del Peñón in Tlaxcala, Mexico, in the 1950s and came to California through the Bracero program, working the vineyards around St. Helena. His grandson, Erik Ayala, is now the winemaker, working alongside his father, Ruben Ayala.

Erik spent five years in cellar and production work at Far Niente and nine years at Pride Mountain Vineyards, where he worked across the vineyard, fermentation and blending. The wines come from Napa and Sonoma County vineyards and are bottled and cellared in St. Helena. Current releases include a 2022 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, a 2023 Calesa Vineyard Pinot Noir and a 2024 Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc.

1467 Cellars sells its wine through its online shop and mailing list. It publishes no tasting room or visiting program, so it does not receive visitors. The day below starts on the Silverado Trail and swings through Yountville, with three family-scale wineries that do host, from a cave walk to a race car driver's Cabernet house in the Stags Leap District.

Tasting Fees

1467 Cellars does not offer tastings.
