The Jack London Lodge is a small lodge on Arnold Drive in the village of Glen Ellen, a few minutes below Jack London State Historic Park, where the author built his Beauty Ranch. Rooms are kings and double queens, and some look out over the creek, the garden or the pool.
There is a year-round outdoor pool and a hot tub set in a garden, and the Jack London Saloon on site serves food and drinks. There is no front desk: a host greets you at check-in, which runs from 3 to 7 p.m.
It is also an easy place to start a wine tour. Laurel Glen Vineyard and Talisman pour a short walk away in the village, and Benziger Family Winery is about 5 minutes up Sonoma Mountain. We are based in Calistoga, in neighboring Napa Valley.
Sonoma County Airport (STS): about 23 miles, 40 minutes. The closest airport to Jack London Lodge, and the easiest arrival: a small airport in Santa Rosa with no Bay Area traffic on the drive. Direct flights come in from Los Angeles, San Diego, Seattle, Portland, Phoenix, Denver, Dallas and more.
Oakland (OAK): about 63 miles, 1 hour 35 minutes. Often a quieter airport than SFO.
San Francisco International (SFO): about 63 miles, 1 hour 45 minutes, and longer at busy times. The most flights, with a drive across the Bay Area.
Sacramento (SMF): about 80 miles, 2 hours. Skips Bay Area traffic entirely, though it is the longest drive of the four.
Flying private? We also meet guests at the FBOs at STS and Napa County Airport (APC). See our Sonoma County Airport car service page for more on flying into STS.
