About the Winery

Wine Guy & Wine Gal is the label of founder David Dees, who grew up in Paso Robles, trained as a pastry chef in Provence, worked at Pebble Beach Resort and later returned to France to learn winemaking. After more than 30 years in the wine business, including building other wine companies, he started making his own wines from Sonoma County. The Wine Gal is his wife, Shawn; they married in June 2025.

The wines are limited, small-batch releases. The current list includes a 2024 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir ($50), a 2024 Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel ($40), a 2024 Alexander Valley Cabernet ($75), Brody's White and Red Blends ($35), the Judith Ann Rosé and a Merlot called Mrs. Merlot.

There is no tasting room. The company says it operates without a brick-and-mortar location and instead hosts private wine events, mainly in Southern California, where its mailing address is. Wines are sold through its online store, with free California shipping on two bottles or more. The day below stays in western Sonoma County around Sebastopol, in Russian River Valley country.

Tasting Fees

Wine Guy & Wine Gal does not offer tastings. On the day below, fees run $35 at Iron Horse, $45 at Merry Edwards and $35 at Marimar Estate, paid to each winery.

Tasting fees as of October 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
