About the Winery

Darius and Sarah Anderson founded Tyge William Cellars in 2009 and named it for their first child, Tyge William. The first wine was a Sauvignon Blanc from a small vineyard in Yountville, and the plan from the start was a flagship Cabernet Sauvignon from the family's hillside home vineyard just outside the town of Sonoma. Listed wines include an Anderson Ranch Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, a Carneros Chardonnay and a Sonoma Valley Sauvignon Blanc.

The winemaker named on the label's website is Don Van Staaveren, whose 1996 Chateau St. Jean Cinq Cépages was named Wine Spectator's Wine of the Year. The label describes small-scale production from small vineyard parcels and farming methods that go back four generations.

The wines are offered through Club Tyge, a wine club with events and experiences such as hot air balloon rides over Sonoma and Napa. The website lists only a mailing address on West Napa Street in Sonoma and an email, with no tasting room, so the day below goes to three estates in Sonoma Valley that host, starting with Chateau St. Jean, where Van Staaveren made his best-known wine.

Tasting Fees

Tyge William Cellars does not offer tastings.

On the day below, Chateau St. Jean's seated Belle Terre Experience is $50, Imagery's Reserve Seated Tasting is $35 and WALT's Current Release Tasting is $40.

Tasting fees as of October 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
