About the Winery

Twomey was founded in 1999 by the Duncan family of Silver Oak, as a family venture beyond Cabernet Sauvignon: a way to make other grape varieties from the most compelling vineyards they could find. The family's work at Twomey has since informed the wines of Silver Oak and its sister wineries, through shared growers, winemakers and vineyard technology.

The wines come from cool-climate vineyards that run along the coast from Santa Maria Valley to Mendocino's Anderson Valley, and each is fermented, blended and bottled near its source. The Healdsburg winery sits beside estate vineyards on Westside Road, and its production cellar is where Twomey's Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc are made. The single-vineyard bottlings are highly allocated, going mostly to members and top restaurants.

The building is the reason many guests remember the visit: a curving roof that follows the line of the hills, glass walls, and winding patios set into the foothills with views to Mount St. Helena and Geyser Peak, two miles from the Healdsburg plaza. Seated tastings run an hour on the back patio or inside, and on guided tours guests can look into the cellar. It is an easy, polished first stop, and we time the pickup so you are there as the doors open.

Tasting Fees

$35 for the Twomey Experience (Sauvignon Blanc, Anderson Valley and Russian River Valley Pinot Noir, and one older vintage). $55 for the Twomey Single Vineyard tasting of four single-vineyard Pinot Noirs. $65 for the Founders Flight of Twomey and Silver Oak wines. Seated tastings last an hour, for 1 to 8 guests. A Chef's Board for 1 to 3 guests is $50.

Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
