Limerick Lane takes its name from the road, which a cattle farmer named after his hometown of Limerick, Ireland. Italian immigrants later planted vineyards here, and the Del Fava family planted the Zinfandel field blend now called the 1910 Block. The Collins family bought the property from the Del Favas and created the winery to sell only wines grown on the estate; today it is run by Jake and Alexis Bilbro, who bought it and set about reinvigorating the old vines.
The 53-acre estate sits in the far northeast corner of the Russian River Valley, where the fog stops, which gives it a warmer pocket where Zinfandel and Rhône varieties thrive in a region best known for Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The farming has moved toward sustainable and organic practices, and the Bilbros brought in winemaker Chris Pittenger. Wine Spectator ranked the 2012 Limerick Lane Zinfandel No. 12 on its annual Top 100.
The visit is small and personal. The tasting room is cozy, with views over the vineyards and hillsides, and when the weather is good the tasting moves outdoors among the old vines. From May to November the picnic tasting puts you at a table in the Zinfandel vineyard with a basket from local purveyors, three miles from downtown Healdsburg.
$40 per person for the Limerick Lane Seated Wine Tasting; one fee is waived with the purchase of three bottles. $70 per person for the Seated Wine Tasting + Picnic Experience, about 90 minutes.
Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.

Pickup at 10:00 a.m. from a Healdsburg hotel such as Hotel Healdsburg or The Madrona.
Hotel Healdsburg, on the town plaza, is about 10 minutes from Limerick Lane, and The Madrona, a 24-room hotel on a historic estate on Westside Road, about 15. The day below fits a six-hour tour, and extra time can be added by the hour.
The first stop. The seated tasting ($40), outdoors among the old vines when the weather allows.
About 20 minutes away. A Westside Road family ranch with real history: its Chardonnay went into the 1973 Chateau Montelena that won the 1976 Paris Tasting, and that block still grows here. The Estate Wine Tasting of six estate wines, on the patio or in the oak grove, is $40 and about an hour; the Wine & Cheese Pairing Flight is $60. By reservation, Wednesday to Monday.
About 15 minutes away. James Beard finalists Mark and Terri Stark's tapas bar on Center Street, steps from the Healdsburg plaza, with paella, Spanish wines and tables indoors or outside. Open daily from 11:30 a.m. Prefer a picnic? We can arrange a catered picnic at a winery that allows one; the cost is quoted when you book.
About 25 minutes away. Winemaker Kirk Venge, raised in a Napa Valley winemaking family, makes single-vineyard Pinot Noir and Chardonnay here, several of them scored 96 points. Each visit is hosted individually in a relaxed farm setting: eight or nine current releases over about 90 minutes for $45, waived with a purchase. Advance reservation only.
Back in Healdsburg by 4:20 p.m.
Three wineries is the right pace for a day of serious tasting. Bacigalupi is closed on Tuesdays, so this day works Wednesday to Monday. Croix's tasting runs about 90 minutes, and the day ends around 4:20.
About $125 to $145 per person in tasting fees for the three wineries, paid directly to each winery.
