Trione Vineyards and Winery

About the Winery

Henry Trione, raised in Fortuna by Italian immigrant parents, moved to Sonoma County in the 1940s. In the 1970s he and his sons, Mark and Vic, began seeking out and planting premium vineyard sites in what became the Russian River Valley and Alexander Valley appellations, and the family later owned Geyser Peak Winery for many years before selling it. They returned to winemaking under their own name in 2005 and finished their Geyserville winery in time for the 2008 harvest.

The Triones farm about 600 acres across five ranches in the Russian River Valley, Alexander Valley and Sonoma Coast, and make their wines from the best of that fruit. John Duckett directs the winemaking. Mark Trione is president and Vic vice president; Mark's daughter Denise oversees sales and marketing, and her husband, Kris Hicks, runs the vineyards. The Nervo Ranch next to the winery is where the family's story began, and the Block 21 Cabernet Sauvignon comes from its Cloverdale Ranch.

Beside the tasting room stands the Old Stone Building, built in 1908 as the Nervo Winery by Frank Nervo Sr. from basalt blocks quarried at Annadel, and restored by the family in 2008. Walk-in guests taste a flight of estate wines indoors and then take their glasses out to the garden courtyard and veranda. Guided vineyard and cellar tours run on a set schedule, and there are bocce courts by the hour.

Tasting Fees

$30 for the Discover Estate Wine Flight, offered from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. $40 for the Vineyard Tour & Tasting at 11 a.m. or 1 p.m. $50 for the Cellar Tour & Tasting, including the Old Stone Building, at noon or 2 p.m. $25 an hour for a bocce court, wine sold separately. Tastings are complimentary for club members.

Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
