About the Winery

Meadowcroft is the namesake of winegrower Tom Meadowcroft, who began in wine by working the 1979 harvest in Bordeaux, then studied viticulture and enology at UC Davis and Napa College. He managed vineyards in Napa and Washington State with a focus on sustainable farming and went on to manage dozens of properties for top wineries in Napa and Sonoma. The honeybee on the label stands for that patient work in the vineyard.

Meadowcroft's Cabernet Sauvignon grows on Tom's own estate vineyard on Mount Veeder in Napa, and its Bordeaux varieties come from sustainably farmed vineyards in Dry Creek Valley, Carneros and Alexander Valley. The range runs from sparkling wine and Chardonnay to Pinot Noir, Zinfandel and Cabernet, all in limited production. Executive winemaker Petar Kirilov, who learned the craft from his father in Bulgaria and earned a master's in winemaking there, has more than fifteen years of experience.

The tasting room sits among the gardens of Cornerstone Sonoma, on the Carneros Highway just south of town, with seating inside and out. Small groups can sit down for a seated tasting with no fee, the Taste of Meadowcroft pairs four wines with seasonal dishes by Chef Sonam Sherpa, and the blending seminar starts with a walk in the gardens and ends with a bottle of your own Bordeaux-style blend, corked and labeled by you.

Tasting Fees

Complimentary seated tasting of a pre-selected flight of three wines, for up to 6 guests; a paid flight of four wines of your choosing is also offered (fee to be verified upon reservation). $120 for the Taste of Meadowcroft, four wines paired with seasonal dishes. $150 for A Perfect Blend, the wine blending seminar with cheese. $405 for Balloon & Blending, a sunrise balloon flight with Sonoma Ballooning followed by the blending seminar.

Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.

10:20 · Meadowcroft Wines

The complimentary seated tasting of three wines, or the Taste of Meadowcroft food pairing ($120) booked 72 hours ahead.

11:35 · Three Fat Guys

About 15 minutes away. Three offensive linemen drafted by the same NFL team in 2006 started this winery, and Tony Moll, who grew up in Sonoma, runs it, often pouring in the tasting room himself; there is a garden out back. The Premier Wine Tasting Flight of five wines is $40, about 90 minutes. Open daily 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., with tastings until 3:30; reservations recommended.

About 5 minutes away. A small restaurant on East Napa Street, a few steps from the Sonoma Plaza, serving lunch Tuesday to Saturday, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Reservations open a month ahead, for parties of up to 6, and we book the table with the rest of the day. Three wineries is the right pace for a day of serious tasting. Cafe La Haye serves lunch Tuesday to Saturday, so this day works Tuesday to Saturday; on other days we pick another lunch spot in town. Sonocaia is by appointment, so we book it when you reserve.

About $90 per person in tasting fees for Three Fat Guys and Sonocaia, paid directly to each winery; Meadowcroft's seated tasting is complimentary.
